Dean Silverthorne has come home. Not that he really wanted to, but because his sister, Kate, is getting married and he made her a promise. But all Dean wants to do is get back to his life, his football life. At Kate’s wedding, Dean meets Emma Hart, a woman who appears to be immune to his playboy charms. Emma's scorn intrigues Dean and he is even more determined to win her over,
Emma Hart is a woman who was devastatingly hurt by a thoughtless womanizer. She is resolved to never let that happen to her again. But despite her resolve, Dean is an enigma to her and despite all that has been written about him she is attracted to him.
Any Given Christmas is a wonderfully engaging and charming romance. It is a modern interpretation on the classic opposite attracts storyline, but is kept fresh but the modern characters and plot. Dean is the classic celebrity football quarterback whose playboy status has as large as George Clooney’s but is it really who he is. Emma is a bit straight-laced, teaches kindergarten and sits home on a Friday night with her cat XXX, but is that really who she is.
Together Dean and Emma discover not only each other but learn to trust each other enough to open up their pasts and reveal their innermost selves to each other. There are some false starts and fumbles along the way from Dean and Emma, but in the end their relationship is a touchdown.
I give Any Given Christmas 4 flowers with a sensuality factor of 3-1/2 flames.
