A Wicked Wolf

A Wicked Wolf - Brenda Williamson I had high hopes for Randi Brown and Nick Wolf, but it was just not meant to be for me, the excerpt on NetGalley was so HOT that I really wanted to know what happened next. I would have been better off not wondering. A Wicked Wolf is a very brief paranormal erotic novella that is only about 170 pages, so there are not many pages that Brenda Williamson has to work with. This produces shallow, non-developed characters and a storyline that that is obvious and without a lot of depth and mystery. However, the sex was very hot but after a while it seemed that was all the book was about. I never developed a connection with Randi, as I felt that she was self-absorbed. Two events showcase this; the first involved her siblings who she is responsible for. I think it took her 160 pages to remember that she actually had siblings and that after being stranded on the mountain for a week and perhaps she should call them. The second event was her taking herself “in hand” to say. She was so horny she had to get herself off. Oh, did I mention she was driving a motor vehicle at the time! Needless to say, she drove herself into a ditch and stranded herself on Nick Wolff’s mountain. A Wicked Wolf is recommended for those readers who just want to read hot sex scenes and do not need a storyline to showcase those scenes. Otherwise, this book will probably be a miss for the reader
